In May of 2006, Riley, Taylor, and I flew out to Washington State to see my brother Scott graduate from college (Todd wanted to come but he had recently started a new job and could not take the time off). We arrived a few days early on Thursday and went to Tacoma to see my grandfather, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Our plane landed early in the afternoon and to let the children get some exercise we went to Point Defiance Park in Tacoma.

We had a good time with our relatives and wished we could stay longer, but early friday morning we had to head out for our four hour drive to Spokane. Our first stop was Snoqualmie Falls. We checked out the falls from the top and then hiked down to the bottom for a closer view.

We made it over the pass and headed toward the Columbia River. We stopped after driving across the bridge to take some pictures and stretch our legs. The landscape in Eastern Washgington is completely different from that in Western Washington.

We arrived in Spokane in the early evening. Riley and Taylor were looking forward to picking up their Uncle Brian from the airport at 10pm. We checked into the hotel and had some dinner. Around 8pm we drove to the airport and picked up my father and Susan. We were all staying at the same hotel and were going to drive to the graduation together in the morning.

It was an hour and a half drive down to Pullman, so we had to leave at 6:30 in the morning. We made it just in time and watched the graduates parade into the gymnasium. We were all looking for Scott but had to call him on his cell phone to find him. He was too far away to get a good picture of him.
