On June 8th, 2005, we left Bozeman to start the move out to California.
Todd began his new job on the 13th of June and we spent a few days exploring the area. The
children loved hanging out in the pop-up, and we found a camp where Todd could stay for the
month. I was going to head back to Bozeman after his birthday on the 24th. Todd was busy
with work, so I brought
the children down to my father's place in Camarillo, about four and a half hours south
of Monterey.
While there we went to the beach near Malibu at Point Mugu in the Santa
Monica Mountains. The beach was beautiful and the weather was perfect. It was warm
enough to swim, but not too hot to relax on the beach. Taylor was scared of the waves
so she hung out near some rocks far enough back to feel safe. The first time we went to
the beach we saw dolphins jumping out of the water. Riley and Taylor were so excited. The
dolphins
were cresting and jumping about 30 feet in front of us. There was hardly anyone on the beach
, probably because it was a weekday, and we were able to let Timber off leash. He loved splashing
in the water. Both Timber and Riley ran in and out of the waves.

Todd wasn't going to come down because of the drive, but decided at the last minute to drive
down friday night. He arrived about 11pm. We took him to the beach on Saturday and he thought
it was pretty cool too. After letting the children run around, we got back in the car and
drove to Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. It is really nice down there but so crowded! We
came back through West Hollywood and saw many places we had seen in the movies. We celebrated Father's Day and then
Todd had to leave early Monday morning so he could be back in time for work. The children
were having fun playing at the playground and swimming in the pool at my father's condo, so I
decided to stay until Tuesday.
