One friday afternoon in February, we decided to escape Bucky's place and headed down to
New York to see the city. We called Todd's cousin, Pat, in New Jersey to see if he wanted to
get together while we were down there. He told us to he wanted us to come stay with him
and he would take us into the city.
Pat and Dawn have a little girl,Aselin, that is the same age as Taylor. We drove the
four hours to Bedminster, NJ and made it to Pat's condo. Both Taylor and her
cousin had grown alot since we had seen them at Thanksgiving. It was cute to see the two
little girls next to each other.

Pat cooked us this incredible filet mignon for dinner and we spent the night enjoying
each other's company. Pat's dog, Topper, thought Riley made a comfortable pillow.

On Saturday we caught the train in the morning and headed into New York City.

Pat took us through the
subway system and we came up near Central Park. He thought it would be fun to have lunch
at Tavern on the Green. The girls were infatuated with the colorful balloons. The restaurant
was very cool with the different themed rooms. I kept my eye out for movie stars but I didn't
see any.

Outside of the restaurant.

After eating we walked through Central Park. It was really nice. There is this cool bike
trail all around the park where you can ride your bike, roller blade, or walk.

Riley really wanted to see the dinosaur exhibit at the Museum of Natural History, so we
walked over there and waited in line for almost an hour to get in. Taylor couldn't handle
all the excitement.

Once we made it into the museum was really cool. There was so much to see but Riley hurried
us to the dinosaur section. There was a huge T-Rex skeleton in the middle of the room. I think Riley
was expecting the dinosaurs to look like the ones in his books, but these ones were only
bones. He kept asking where the really dinosaurs were...
There were also bones from Mammoths and other prehistoric mammals.

After the museum it was on to Time Square. All the bright lights kept Taylor and
Aselin mesmerized. There were lots of people, but not the horrible crowds you see in
the movies.

It was a very fun visit and we were glad to have been able to spend the weekend with
Pat, Dawn, and Aselin.
